Canna is the westernmost of the Small Isles, in the Scottish Inner Hebrides. These are linked to the neighboring island of Sanday by a pedestrian bridge &, except at high tide, by sandbanks.

A islands are owned by the National Trust of Scotland and are run as a domestic. It have a mostly Roman Catholic population of 12 humans (2001 nosecount).

Canna is known for its birds, including Manx shearwaters and puffins. the greatest point on the island is Carn a' Ghaill (gaelic for rocky hill of the storm) at 210m. On the eastern edge of the island, Compass Hill (139m) is formed of a volcanic rock known tuff of such a high iron content that nearby ships' compasses are distorted.

The big natural harbour is formed by the gap between Canna & Sanday. This is utilized per Caledonian MacBrayne ferries which link a islands to the mainland port of Mallaig, and a neighboring Microscopic Isles of Rum, Eigg and Muck.

A isolated skerry of Hyskeir lies 10km south west of the island.

Around September 2005, it was reported that a people of Brown Rats on a isl& had grown to 10,000 & was inducing such problems to a each a man people and the birdlife, particularly the uncommon Manx shearwaters, that a complete reject wopuld happen.
